Helmut Deutsch, born 1963 in Saarlouis, studied organ with Paul Schneider, Andreas Rothkopf (Saarbrücken), Zsigmond Szathmáry (Freiburg im Breisgau) and Xavier Darasse (Toulouse).
Prize winner at a number of international organ competitions (among others at the Franz-Liszt-Competition Budapest), he performs in concert throughout Europe and Asia and teaches within the framework of various master classes (among others at the Royal Academy of Music London).
He is author of a number of transcriptions for organ of orchestral and piano music, has performed for radio and television and has made many recordings.
Helmut Deutsch is a jury member at various international competitions and is professor of organ music at the University of Music at Freiburg (Germany).

Improvisation I originated on the occasion of an organ concert with the title "Music according to texts and pictures" on 11th of May 2001, with compositions by Froberger, Bach, Handel and Albright to paintings by Macke, Klee, Lakner, Martinmüller, Russel and Bilinsky, concluded with a simultaneous improvisation to a painting by Thomas Lefeldt.
Improvisation II is a live recording of a Concert on 22nd of May 2004 in the Lutheran parish centre Kirchzarten, Improvisationen III - IV are preliminary studies to this concert.
